Jean-Daniel Bouvard
Jean Daniel Bouvard was born in 1957 in Saint-Etienne. He started to draw very young. As he moved in Paris in 1976, he undertook his architectural studies.
After graduating in 1984 and a few months spent in an agency, his desire to paint prevailed. Thus, he started to devote himself to it and learn, as an autodidact, to master the technique.
From 1986, exhibitions followed one another in Paris, as well as in provinces and in the United States, in New York where since 1997 he has regularly exhibited.
In 1991, he received the Paul-Louis Weiller portrait prize for the under 35 painters category; and in 1995, the Gabriel Ollivier prize of the Prince Pierre de Monaco Foundation. Nowadays, his paintings belong to several collections, and especially to the SACEM, the Colas Foundation and other private collections.
The subjects are varied, and the landscapes are silent, timeless. With his sense of harmony and composition, but also his way of playing with light and off-screen, the work is more complex than it seems. By a personal climate, he allows to see another world.
The mystery and poetry of everyday life find their original graces there.
